We wanted that space—and that weight—to actually do something.
The RUNRICH CWS (Counterweight Storage System) combines adjustable helmet counterweight with organized battery storage in one compact, purpose-built system. Spare batteries become part of the counterbalance, while removable weight inserts let you fine-tune the setup for your helmet and NOD configuration.
BATTERY STORAGE THAT WORKS AS COUNTERWEIGHT
The CWS provides dedicated storage for the batteries commonly carried with night vision and supporting equipment:
- 4× CR123
- 2× AA
- 1–2× CR2032
- 3× removable counterweight inserts
Run it loaded with batteries, add the included weights for additional balance, or configure a combination that works for your setup.
Instead of carrying dead weight on the back of your helmet and spare batteries somewhere else, the CWS combines both jobs into a single compact package.
INDIVIDUALLY SEALED COMPARTMENTS
We didn’t want loose batteries rattling around inside a pouch.
The primary battery compartments are individually retained using tool-less threaded caps with waterproof gaskets, helping protect your spare batteries from moisture, dirt and debris.
The caps feature an easy-to-grip exterior for hand removal, along with an integrated coin slot for additional leverage when needed.
A separate dedicated compartment stores one or two stacked CR2032 batteries, keeping commonly needed coin cells protected and easy to find.
ADJUSTABLE, NOT JUST HEAVY
Every helmet and night vision setup balances differently.
The CWS includes three removable counterweight inserts, allowing you to add or remove ballast based on the weight of your NODs, helmet accessories and personal preference.
The weights sit in a dedicated integrated tray, keeping the system self-contained and eliminating the need to stuff loose weights into your counterweight pouch.
DESIGNED AROUND THE HELMET
The CWS wasn’t designed as a generic battery case.
The housing was built specifically for use on the rear of a night vision helmet, with a curved profile designed around FAST-style helmet geometry. The shape allows the system to sit naturally against the helmet while keeping the overall package compact.
Smooth exterior surfaces and rounded edges make it easier to insert and remove from compatible retention pouches without unnecessary snag points.
The CWS is designed to fit the Ferro Concepts PVS31 Battery Retention System and similarly sized compatible counterweight pouches.
